“May you live in interesting times” is an often-quoted curse, but it does seem to fit our current times.
On behalf of myself and everyone at the Inn at Sunrise Point here in mid-coast Maine, I want to take this opportunity to wish all of you good health and safety in the coming days. And of course to tell you we hope and fully expect to have the pleasure of your company at the Inn as soon as your circumstances permit. At the Inn, we have been lucky thus far. No doubt the cold Maine winter — our state’s organic agent for self-quarantine and social distancing—as well as its small population density are contributing factors. We know however, that everyone and every place, wherever they are, will face challenges in the coming days.
We hope and truly expect Maine to be a healthy and resilient place for travelers this year. As you know, the Inn at Sunrise Point is secluded and uncrowded, with fresh ocean breezes 24/7. The Inn’s luxury accommodations, lush gardens, oceanfront, and glorious sunrises will be potent attractions for guests hoping to escape anxiety, crowded venues, noise, and all the other stresses of daily life. Add to that our latest plans to pamper you, nourish you with delicious breakfasts and tasty treats, and to provide exemplary service in all ways. We hope you can think of no better place to retreat to when our season begins and hope you will find immediate pleasure in planning your future stay with us. And for those of you who don’t want to contemplate airline travel, we’d remind you that driving to Maine can be a scenic pleasure and for many of you, not very far away! We’d be happy to help you plan your road trip with recommendations about our favorite places along the way.
As we prepare for our spring opening, still scheduled for April 29, 2020 (we will tell you if that changes), we hope that our beautiful waterfront hideaway will be your choice for a perfect getaway. Although the Inn has always had a reputation for impeccable cleanliness and immaculate premises, we assure you that our staff, particularly our seasoned housekeeping team, is focused on ensuring our guests can relax and enjoy their time here with total confidence and safety. We are closely monitoring all CDC guidance and will continue to ensure we follow best practices for health and hygiene. And we remind you that we are a 12-room property with well spaced accommodations and uncrowded public spaces.
If you already have your reservations at the Inn for 2020
Our sincere thanks and congratulations to you for beating the crowds that Maine now hopes to draw in this year of restricted travel. Rest assured that we will work with you if you need to make changes in, postpone, or cancel your travel plans.
For those of you who haven’t booked yet
Now would be a good time to make a future booking at the Inn as people have begun to think about alternatives to long-distance travel and large cities where the tourist venues are crowded.
We are flexible and will be adjusting our cancellation and advanced payment policies as needed in the coming months to accommodate your individual needs due to health, travel issues, and financial uncertainties. Call (207) 236-7716 or email email@example.com if you are concerned or need to change your plans. If you haven’t booked yet and are concerned that you don’t know what your future holds, we’ll do all we can to help you plan a delightful, penalty-free vacation. And as we find time to do so in our enforced social distancing, we’ll try to conjure up some great specials to entice you to come visit.
It is Maine’s BICENTENNIAL YEAR so we’ll have some special activities going on in the State—plus the usual mouthwatering lobster and seafood, gorgeous sailing, hiking, and kayaking opportunities, as well as original arts and fine crafts to enjoy. There are good times to look forward to. Plan to join us, and in the meantime, please stay safe and be well.
